NasDem DKI Supports Rp 5,000 LRT Kelapa Gading-Manggarai Fare: Ideal
Deputy Speaker of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD DKI), Wibi Andrino, has welcomed the readiness of the LRT Jakarta Kelapa Gading-Manggarai route to begin operations. Wibi expressed hope that the route will reduce public dependence on private vehicles.
“We welcome the operation of the LRT to Manggarai. This will become an important transport alternative and we hope it can reduce the burden of private vehicles, particularly from Kelapa Gading towards the city centre,” Wibi told reporters on Tuesday (25/8/2026).
According to the Chairman of the NasDem DKI Regional Leadership Council, the temporary LRT fare of Rp 5,000 is ideal enough to encourage the public to switch to public transport. The fare will apply until October 2026.
“The temporary fare of Rp 5,000 is, in our view, ideal enough to attract the public to switch to public transport,” he said.
Wibi also stressed the importance of fare affordability in the long term. He hopes that the LRT fare will remain affordable and integrated with other public transport modes.
“Going forward, the fare setting must remain affordable and integrated with TransJakarta, MRT, and KRL,” Wibi said.
The Kelapa Gading-Manggarai route is approximately 12.2 kilometres long and serves 11 stations. Manggarai LRT Station is also being prepared to become one of the integration hubs with TransJakarta, KRL Commuter Line, and the Airport Rail Link.
The LRT Jakarta route is scheduled to begin full operations on 26 August 2026, with operating hours from 05.00 to 24.00 Western Indonesia Time.
