A delegation from the NasDem party’s central executive board visited the Amanatul Ummah Islamic boarding school in Mojokerto. The delegation leader, Saan Mustopa, encouraged the students not to stop pursuing education because knowledge is limitless.

The NasDem party delegation greeted hundreds of students at the KH Abdul Chalim Grand Mosque, Kembangbelor Village, Pacet, Mojokerto, this afternoon. Previously, they performed the afternoon prayer together, led by the caretaker of the Amanatul Ummah Islamic boarding school, KH Asep Saifuddin Chalim.

The Deputy Chairman of the NasDem party, Saan Mustopa, said that this visit was part of their Ramadan outreach tour across Java. Until the sixth day of the Ramadan tour, the Amanatul Ummah Islamic boarding school was the eighth pesantren he visited with the delegation from the NasDem party’s central executive board.

“Thank you, especially to the Principal, for allowing us to have this gathering with the entire family of the Amanatul Ummah Islamic boarding school. It is an honor for us, the NasDem party,” said Saan in front of the students, Thursday (February 26, 2026).

The politician, who currently serves as Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, explained that the visit to the pesantren during the Ramadan tour was in accordance with the message from the Chairman of the NasDem party, Surya Paloh. This visit is a form of respect and appreciation for the contribution and services of pesantren and religious leaders to the nation and country.

“If we look at history, the role of religious leaders and students in fighting against colonizers was enormous. They sacrificed not only their physical strength and possessions but also their thoughts and even their lives for the independence of this nation. In pesantren, they are taught to love their country, and our nationalism is formed,” he explained.

In addition, Saan said that the visit to the pesantren serves as a reminder for politicians to maintain the nobility of politics. That is, politics should be used to build welfare and benefit by making various changes towards a better direction, as well as to improve welfare, fight ignorance and poverty.

“So that this noble goal is achieved in a good and correct way, the party and politicians must often have gatherings and dialogues with religious leaders and the pesantren community to monitor and remind them to maintain the purity of politics. Because this pesantren is a place for good people,” he said.

Meanwhile, to the students of the Amanatul Ummah Islamic boarding school, Saan advised them not to stop pursuing education. He emphasized that limitations should not be an obstacle. Saan also recounted his childhood when he attended elementary school without shoes and a uniform. He had to spend more than 11 years herding goats.

“Never stop pursuing education to the highest level, until we are ready to compete in real life. Because knowledge is limitless, with knowledge we can become anything. Secondly, about the purity of the heart, everything is based on good intentions. Because with good intentions, people have hope,” he concluded.
