NasDem Consolidates in East Java During Ramadan Safari, Visits Sunan Giri's Tomb
Following a visit to the Kartini Museum in Jepara, Central Java, the fifth day of the NasDem Party’s Ramadan Safari continued in East Java. The agenda focused on consolidating support with the East Java DPW (Regional Executive Board) of the NasDem Party, specifically in the 9th (Bojonegoro and Tuban) and 10th (Lamongan and Gresik) electoral districts.
During the consolidation forum, Deputy Chairman of the NasDem Party’s DPP (Central Executive Board), Saan Mustopa, stated that since its inception, East Java has been one of NasDem’s main strongholds, both at the provincial level and throughout Java.
“From the beginning, East Java was one of our main strengths. Its acceptance rate was even higher than in other provinces in Java. We need to restore that,” Saan said in a statement on Thursday (February 26, 2026).
Saan explained that the Ramadan Safari is not just a series of friendly visits, but part of a strategy to strengthen regions that have historically been strongholds for the party. He openly expressed his desire to ensure that all electoral districts in Java are represented in the 2029 elections.
“I have the will and determination, together with the party officials who are participating in this Ramadan Safari, that in 2029 all electoral districts in Java must be represented. That is not an easy target, and it certainly requires sacrifice,” he emphasized.
He affirmed that the only way to achieve this goal is through systematic hard work. The first and most important step is to build a strong party structure.
“No party can be strong and ready to win if its structure is not well-built. We can do many things, but if the structure is weak, disorganized, and poorly managed, then everything will be difficult – even impossible,” he said.
Saan believes that the structure is not just a list of officials, but a political machine that must be active and working. Without a well-organized and robust organizational foundation, victory will only be a dream.
Visit to the Tomb of Sunan Giri
After the consolidation, the Ramadan Safari agenda concluded with a visit to the tomb of Sunan Giri together with local DPW (Regional Executive Board) and DPD (Regional Branch Board) officials. This visit is part of the tradition of the Ramadan Safari, which combines organizational consolidation with reflection on the values of the struggle.
Saan said that the historical legacy left by religious leaders is not just a heritage of the past, but a space for contemplation to re-evaluate the direction of the struggle.
“This visit is a reminder that their struggle in spreading Islam in Indonesia is also a prayer for them,” he explained.
Amidst the increasingly competitive political dynamics, Saan said that the Ramadan Safari in East Java combines two things: strengthening the structure as a foundation for victory, and reflecting on history as a guide for the struggle.
For NasDem, the path to 2029 is not just about electoral strategy, but also about maintaining the spirit and awareness that political strength must be based on a healthy organization and good intentions.
As information, the consolidation activities took place in Bojonegoro and Gresik on Wednesday (February 25, 2026). After the consolidation of the 9th district and a joint iftar (breaking of the fast) in Bojonegoro, the activities continued with the consolidation of the 10th district at the NasDem Party’s DPD in Gresik.
The meeting involved local community leaders and religious figures, as part of an effort to expand social networks and strengthen the party’s roots at the local level.
