Narcotics Vape Case in Seleman Island Uncovered, BNN Kepri Arrests 2 Suspects
The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of the Riau Islands Province has uncovered the circulation of vapes suspected to contain the narcotic Etomidate on Seleman Island, Tanjung Batu, Riau Islands. Two individuals were arrested in the case disclosure. The investigation began with a public report on Monday (15/6/2026) at around 11.00 WIB. Members of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) Special for the Riau Islands moved to uncover a transaction involving Category I narcotics in crystal form and Category II liquid containing Etomidate. “On Monday, 15 June 2026, at approximately 12.00 WIB, members of the DJBC Regional Office Special for the Riau Islands coordinated with BNNP Kepri members and conducted profiling of two individuals matching the reported characteristics in the waters off Seleman,” stated BNNP in a release received on Tuesday (16/6/2026). Later that same day, at around 12.45 WIB, members of the Eradication Division of BNNP Kepri together with the DJBC Regional Office Special for the Riau Islands spotted two individuals resembling the described characteristics in the Seleman sea waters. Officers then conducted a search. “They carried out the arrest and search, and found evidence of Category I Narcotics in crystal form with a gross weight of 3,095.3 grams and Category II narcotics in the form of vape liquid suspected to contain Etomidate, totalling 3 pieces,” the statement continued. The two suspects were subsequently arrested and are undergoing further examination regarding the case. “Following the incident, the two suspects along with the evidence were taken to the BNNP Kepri office for further investigation,” the agency stated.
