Napan to open first hotel
JAKARTA (JP): Napan Group, a diversified private business group, will set up its first hotel in the capital of Central Java, Semarang.
One of the group's subsidiaries, PT Niagatama Arsaraya, started yesterday the construction of the US$31-million hotel, which will be called the Hotel Holiday Inn.
The four-star hotel, located on Jl. Sisingamangaraja, is being built on a 7,900-square-meter plot. The 211-room hotel is scheduled to open by the end of next year.
Napan currently runs a tourist resort on Pulau Ayer in the Pulau Seribu chain of islands in North Jakarta.
Semarang has only a few four-star hotels, including the Graha Santika of the Gramedia Group and the Ciputra Hotel, which is managed by the Hong Kong-based Swiss-bel Hotel. (icn)
