Nanobank Syariah has launched the Generasi Syariah movement to promote literacy and inclusion of Islamic finance among the younger generation. The initiative is expected to boost the utilisation of Islamic financial products in daily financial activities. The Corporate Banking Director of Nanobank Syariah, Soejanto, said the movement aims to build a new mindset towards Sharia values in modern life. According to Soejanto, Generasi Syariah is not merely a religious label but a movement for those who want to live life in a better way. ‘We want to show that Sharia is not something rigid, but a compass in thinking, choosing, and transacting more wisely and with greater impact,’ Soejanto said in a press release, Thursday (5/3). Soejanto explained that although the public’s understanding of Islamic finance is increasing, the utilisation of Sharia-compliant products and services still needs to be expanded. Therefore, the Generasi Syariah movement is expected to be one of the efforts to strengthen the penetration of Islamic financial services in society. Nanobank Syariah’s President Director Halim said the initiative is also part of the company’s commitment to delivering social impact through banking activities. ‘For Nanobank Syariah, business growth must go hand in hand with social usefulness. Therefore we are committed to continuing to channel income zakat and employee infaq through BAZNAS,’ Halim said. In the launch of this movement, the company also distributed donations through a collaboration with the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS). This step forms part of the company’s efforts to strengthen its social contributions to the community. Through the Generasi Syariah campaign, the company has introduced a number of initiatives such as digital campaigns, an educational podcast ‘Obrolan Abu-Abu’, and the development of a youth generation community. In addition, the company is developing various service features such as Auto Donation, cash waqf, and easier planning of Hajj pilgrimages through the Nanobank Syariah digital platform.
