The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S Deyang, has reportedly resigned from her post. The information was conveyed by the Presidential Special Assistant for Communication and Policy Analysis, Dirgayuza Setiawan. Dirgayuza stated that Nanik resigned to undergo heart treatment. "Today, Mrs Nanik Deyang bid farewell to President Prabowo to undergo heart treatment and simultaneously resign as Head of the National Nutrition Agency," Dirgayuza said in a post on his official Instagram account. Dirgayuza added that he had known Nanik since the run-up to the 2014 General Election. He praised Nanik as a figure who has always cared about the lives of ordinary people. "For more than a decade, I have seen one thing that has never changed about her: she cannot stay silent when she sees the people facing injustice and hardship," he said. Furthermore, Dirgayuza recounted how Nanik brought the case of Indonesian migrant worker Wilfrida Soik to President Prabowo Subianto, leading to Wilfrida being defended from the threat of the death penalty in Malaysia. "It was also Mrs Nanik who proposed the electric pedicab programme for elderly pedicab drivers," he added.
