Nanik S Deyang Officially Appointed as New Head of National Nutrition Agency Following Removal of Dadan Hindayana

President Prabowo Subianto has officially appointed Nanik S Deyang as the new Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) after removing Dadan Hindayana from his position on Tuesday evening, 2 June 2026. The announcement regarding the change in BGN leadership was delivered directly by the Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta.

“Appointing Ms Nanik S Deyang as the new Head of the National Nutrition Agency,” stated Prasetyo Hadi.

This decision has immediately drawn public attention as the National Nutrition Agency is a strategic institution responsible for managing the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme, one of the flagship initiatives of the Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration.

In addition to appointing Nanik S Deyang as the new head, President Prabowo has also restructured the Deputy Head positions within the BGN. The government has appointed Agustina Arum Sari and Major General TNI Trenggono as the new Deputy Heads of the National Nutrition Agency. This change coincides with the removal of the previous officials within the BGN. Previously, the Deputy Head positions were held by Lodewijk Paulus and Sonny Sanjaya.

“Today, Tuesday, 2 June 2026, the President has made the decision to change the leadership of the National Nutrition Agency,” said Prasetyo. He also expressed the government’s appreciation to the former leadership for their contributions to building the initial foundations of the BGN, adding, “This is accompanied by expressions of gratitude for their hard work and dedication in building and developing the National Nutrition Agency.”

Dadan Hindayana had served as the Head of the BGN since being inaugurated by the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, on 19 August 2024. At that time, Dadan was entrusted to lead the newly formed agency established to execute the free nutritious meal programme of the Prabowo-Gibran administration. During his tenure, Dadan was a well-known figure in the preparation and implementation of the MBG programme across various regions. However, the Palace has not yet provided a detailed explanation regarding the reasons behind the removal of Dadan Hindayana from his position as Head of the BGN.
