Nanik S. Deyang Moved to Tears During Inauguration as Head of National Nutrition Agency by Prabowo

President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated Nanik Sudaryati Deyang as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, on Monday (8/6/2026). During the inauguration ceremony, Nanik was moved to tears while shaking hands with President Prabowo, who offered his congratulations following the ceremony.

She remained visibly emotional while receiving congratulations from Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and the Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly, Ahmad Muzani. Nanik also attempted to smile at various ministers and heads of agencies who offered their well-wishes.

Nanik was inaugurated alongside two Deputy Heads of the BGN, Agustuna Arumsari and Trenggono. During a press conference, Nanik emphasised the urgency of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme, which falls under the responsibility of the BGN.

She introduced Arumsari, the former Deputy Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), who will assist her, as well as Trenggono, the former Deputy President Director of PT Agrinas Pangan.

“Mrs Arumsari will closely monitor my financial activities to ensure they are meticulous and correct. I will not make any decisions regarding expenditures without her approval,” said Nanik.

“Beside me is Mr Trenggono; he will support me and work on developing the supply chains in the 3T regions (frontier, outermost, and least developed) and areas that are not yet fully developed,” she added.
