Nanik S. Deyang Claims Prabowo Will Form BGN Supervisory Board

Nanik Sudaryati Deyang has announced her resignation as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) on health grounds. Nanik S. Deyang said she would seek treatment abroad to recover from her heart condition.

In a post on her Facebook account, Nanik revealed that President Prabowo Subianto had approved her resignation. “However, I have been asked to continue monitoring the BGN,” Nanik said in her caption on Wednesday, 22 July 2026.

She said the head of state would likely establish an oversight board. According to her, the president has asked her to take on the position of Chair of the BGN Oversight Board.

She said the supervisory role could still be carried out amid her medical treatment. “The important thing is that it does not involve handling money — an acute trauma, I swear,” said Nanik, adding a smiley emoji.

Nanik said she supports the president in implementing the free nutritious meals programme. According to her, this priority programme aims to improve people’s lives, not to serve political interests.

“MBG is a programme genuinely intended as a nutritional intervention for children, so they grow into a golden generation and to safeguard their health,” Nanik said.

Nevertheless, she said she would concentrate on her health. Her family, she said, has repeatedly reminded her to maintain and improve her eating habits and lifestyle.

Tempo attempted to contact Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi regarding the head of state’s plan to establish a BGN Oversight Board. However, there had been no response as of the time this article was written.
