Nanik Introduces Two New BGN Leaders to Strengthen Oversight and 3T Programme
The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S. Deyang, has introduced two new leaders who will strengthen the institution’s performance, particularly in the aspects of financial oversight and programme implementation in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions. Nanik replaced the former BGN Head, Dadan Hindayana, who became a suspect in an alleged corruption case involving the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. Nanik introduced Agustina Arum Sari, who has extensive experience in supervision and auditing. Before joining BGN, Arum served as the Deputy Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP). “She has spent 34 years in the field of supervision and audit. In accordance with the President’s directive and her expertise, she will oversee state governance and finances at BGN with extreme strictness,” Nanik stated. Nanik assessed that Arum’s presence is a crucial step to ensure transparent and accountable budget management and institutional governance, given the scale of the programmes run by BGN. In addition to Arum, Nanik also introduced Major General Trenggono as a new leader who will strengthen programme implementation in the field. She explained that Trenggono previously served as Vice President Director of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara. Responding to questions regarding Trenggono’s status as an active TNI officer, Nanik confirmed that his resignation process has been submitted. “Before being asked why an active TNI member, the resignation process had already been submitted and has been underway since yesterday. Perhaps he will retire in the near future,” she said. According to Nanik, Trenggono’s territorial experience is needed to support the implementation of BGN programmes, especially in 3T areas which face distribution and accessibility challenges. “Why the military? Because it relates to the 3T programme. We need territorial experts there,” Nanik stated. She expressed hope that the presence of the two new leaders would strengthen oversight, governance, and the effectiveness of implementing BGN’s strategic programmes throughout Indonesia.
