Nanik Deyang's First Meeting at the DPR as Head of BGN

Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, attended a working meeting with House of Representatives (DPR) Commission IX on Monday, 15 June 2026. The meeting marked Nanik’s first encounter with politicians in Senayan after her position at BGN was shifted by President Prabowo Subianto. Nanik wore a white shirt with black trousers. She entered the Commission IX meeting room carrying a stack of documents. The former Deputy Head of BGN only smiled and did not provide any comments. Nanik was accompanied by Deputy Head of BGN Trenggono. Deputy Chair of DPR Commission IX, Nihayatul Wafiroh, stated that the meeting’s agenda was to discuss the BGN’s 2027 work plan and budget. After consulting with 35 DPR members and BGN members, Nihayatul decided that the meeting would be held behind closed doors. “Like our previous meetings to discuss the budget, I declare this meeting closed to the public,” said the PKB politician while striking the session gavel. Nihayatul then declared the meeting adjourned to sterilise the room before the working meeting commenced. According to the attendance list she read out, 35 out of 45 Commission IX members attended the working meeting with BGN. Prabowo Subianto appointed Nanik Sudaryati Deyang as Head of the National Nutrition Agency to replace Dadan Hindayana, who is entangled in a suspected corruption case. Prabowo inaugurated Nanik at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, 8 June 2026. In addition to Nanik, Prabowo inaugurated Trenggono and Agustina Arumsari as Deputy Heads of BGN respectively. Both are replacements for Sony Sanjaya and Lodewyk Pusung, who were also implicated in alleged corruption within the management of the free nutritious meal programme. Following her inauguration, Nanik stated there are four priority steps to improve the management of the MBG programme. The main focus is on budget efficiency, reorganising MBG kitchens, and expanding services to underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions (3T).
