Nanik Deyang Cites 'Trauma Handling Money' in Resignation Statement as BGN Head
The resignation of Nanik Sudaryati Deyang as head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) was motivated by several reasons. Among them is a focus on seeking heart treatment overseas. In addition to medical reasons, Nanik also alluded to a ‘trauma handling money’ in her statement regarding her resignation. “With a heavy heart, I finally bid farewell to the President to undergo treatment abroad for my heart. I plan to depart today, Wednesday (22/7),” Nanik wrote in a status on her Facebook account on Wednesday (22/7/2026). In the statement written on her personal Facebook account, Nanik mentioned that she had received the President’s blessing to resign from BGN for health reasons. However, Nanik claimed the President asked her to help oversee BGN. “The President will likely form a supervisory board where I am asked to become the chair (I think I can still manage nitpicking, as long as it does not involve handling money, I swear I have acute trauma),” Nanik wrote.
