'Namu Balai Kota' Opens Tomorrow, Jakarta Residents Can Tour and Access Driver's License and Passport Services
The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI) will begin a trial of the ‘Namu Balai Kota’ programme starting tomorrow. Through this programme, residents can get a closer look at the Jakarta City Hall complex through tours, educational activities, arts, culture, and various public services.
The ‘Namu Balai Kota’ trial will commence on Saturday (3/10/2026). Following the trial, the programme will be open every Saturday from 08:00 to 17:30 WIB.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that ‘Namu Balai Kota’ is part of the provincial government’s efforts to build a more transparent administration that is closer to the community. “City Hall is not just a place where government officials perform their duties, but also a part of Jakarta’s long historical journey. Through ‘Namu Balai Kota’, we want to provide opportunities for citizens to visit, interact, and see firsthand how the government works to serve their needs,” Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Friday (2/10/2026).
Members of the public can participate in City Hall tours to visit several important rooms, ranging from the Pendopo (pavilion) and the Governor’s Reception Room to the Jakarta Smart City management centre. Visitors can also enjoy the Jakarta Cinema Experience in the Ruang Pola, which showcases the creative aspects of Jakarta’s history. For children, ‘Kids on Air’ is available at the Jakarta News Studio, where they can experience being a junior reporter and learn about the news production process.
In addition to the tours, ‘Namu Balai Kota’ features a Mini Public Service Mall, allowing residents to access various government services in a single location. These include passport services from the Directorate General of Immigration, mobile driver’s licence (SIM) services from the Metro Jaya Regional Police, mobile libraries from the Jakarta Library and Archives Office, and mobile vehicle tax (Samsat) services from the Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency.
Furthermore, residents can utilise free health checks from the Health Office, waste sorting services from the Environmental Office, the opening of Bank Jakarta accounts, and business licensing services from the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency. Additionally, population administration services from the Disdukcapil office and fire extinguisher (APAR) training from the Fire and Rescue Service are available.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno noted that City Hall holds many stories about Jakarta that can be introduced to the public through direct experience. “City Hall has many stories about Jakarta that may not yet be known. Come with your family, bring your children, recognise the spaces that are part of this city’s journey, and then enjoy the artworks, community activities, and culinary offerings,” said Rano.
‘Namu Balai Kota’ also provides a Community Playground as a space for interaction between residents and communities. The area is equipped with a Community Stage that can be used for musical performances and traditional games.
The Head of Jakarta’s Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Office (Diskominfotik), Marulina Dewi, stated that the public can obtain information regarding ‘Namu Balai, Kota’ through the Jakarta Smart City website and the JAKI application. “We hope this access can help the public plan their visits and enjoy the various experiences available at City Hall,” explained Marulina.
