Name boards in stations
Name boards in stations
From Kompas
Much progress has been made by the railway company so far, but
there is still much room for improvement. Now, a passenger must
remember the station where he or she is supposed to get off or
they will miss their stop. This is because the loud speakers in
the train do not function. The problem is particularly bad at
night and when the train is overcrowded. The train conductors do
not inform the passengers of the name of the station while the
train is approaching it, which is a rule in other countries.
The name board of the station is placed too high so that it
cannot be easily read even by the sitting passengers. There is
just no easy way for passengers unfamiliar with the area, or
tourists, to know what stations they are at when the train makes
a short stop. For the benefit of the passengers, the company
should place more name boards so that all passengers can have a
chance to read the name of the station. In developed countries,
they write the name of the station on the walls every 20 or 30
meters. In this way the passengers who want to get off will not
miss their stop.
