Naked Burglar in Solo Beaten by Mob After Defecating in Victim's Home

A man with the initials AM (20), a resident of Boyolali, was badly beaten by a mob after being caught attempting to steal from a house in the Purwodiningratan area, Jebres District, Solo. The burglar was not wearing any clothes when the homeowner discovered him.

“The Surakarta Police duty unit went to the location after receiving information that a young man had been detained by residents for allegedly attempting a burglary,” said Surakarta Police Public Relations Head AKP Lingga Ramadhani, as reported by detikJateng on Friday (28/8/2026).

The incident occurred in the early hours at around 1.20 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. It began when the homeowner returned to find the house in darkness and the padlock on the front door no longer in place.

Feeling suspicious, the victim entered the house. At that moment, the victim saw the perpetrator running from the kitchen towards a bedroom.

“The perpetrator then hid under a blanket in the victim’s bedroom without any clothes on. The victim, realising the perpetrator’s whereabouts, shouted for help,” he explained.

Panicked by the victim’s shouting, the perpetrator went on a rampage and smashed a mirror inside the house. Residents who learned of the incident immediately apprehended the perpetrator. The suspect was briefly set upon by angry residents.

“Yes, the perpetrator was mobbed,” he said.

After the perpetrator was secured, the victim’s bedroom was found to be in disarray. A bag belonging to the victim’s wife was also found to have been ransacked. In addition, the perpetrator is suspected of having defecated in the victim’s bedroom.

“Furthermore, faeces believed to belong to the perpetrator were found in the bedroom. The perpetrator is also suspected of being under the influence of drugs,” he explained.
