Nagan Raya Regency Recruits 270 Students for 'Sekolah Rakyat', Representing Every District

The Nagan Raya Regency Government in Aceh has stated that the 270 prospective students confirmed for the ‘Sekolah Rakyat’ (People’s School) for the 2026/2027 academic year represent every district within the regency. Ali Munir, Acting Head of the Nagan Raya Social Service, said the selection is part of the local government’s effort to ensure equitable access to the Sekolah Rakyat programme. During the outreach process, the local government team also provided understanding to parents and prospective students regarding the concept of Sekolah Rakyat as a boarding school. “This programme not only provides access to quality education but also brings new hope for children to improve their family’s standard of living and realise their dreams,” he said. The Nagan Raya Regency Government expressed appreciation for the Family Hope Programme (PKH) facilitators who have worked diligently in the data collection, verification, and education process for the families of prospective students. He noted that Statistics Indonesia (BPS) also monitored the outreach and field verification process, observing firsthand the commitment of PKH facilitators in ensuring the programme is well-targeted. “This success demonstrates the strong commitment of the Nagan Raya Regency Government in supporting the implementation of the Sekolah Rakyat programme,” he stated.
