Nagan Raya Regency Recruits 270 Students for 'Sekolah Rakyat', Representing Every District

The Nagan Raya Regency Government, Aceh, has announced the selection of 270 prospective students for the 2026/2027 academic year of the Sekolah Rakyat programme, with successful candidates representing every sub-district in the regency.

“The selection of 270 prospective Sekolah Rakyat students in Nagan Raya is part of the local government’s efforts to ensure equitable access to the Sekolah Rakyat programme,” said the Acting Head of the Nagan Raya Regency Social Affairs Office, Ali Munir, in Nagan Raya on Thursday.

During the outreach process for prospective participants, he continued, the local government team has also been providing guidance to parents and prospective students regarding the concept of Sekolah Rakyat as a boarding school.

“This programme not only provides access to quality education but also brings new hope for children to improve their families’ standard of living and realise their aspirations,” he said.

The Nagan Raya Regency Government expressed its appreciation to the facilitators of the Family Hope Programme (PKH), who have worked maximally throughout the processes of data collection, verification, and providing understanding to the families of prospective students.

He noted that BPS (Statistics Indonesia) also participated in monitoring the outreach and field verification processes, observing firsthand the commitment of PKH facilitators in ensuring the programme reaches the intended targets.

“This success demonstrates the strong commitment of the Nagan Muara Regency Government in supporting the implementation of the Sekolah Rakyat programme,” he added.
