Nagan Raya Regency Distributes 9.8 Billion Rupiah in Aid to Disaster Victims
Meulaboh — The Nagan Raya Regency Government in Aceh Province has distributed social assistance totalling 9.8 billion rupiah to residents affected by a hydrometeorological disaster in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District.
“This assistance comes from the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and was distributed in cash through PT Pos Indonesia Meulaboh Branch to beneficiary households,” said Nagan Raya Regent Teuku Raja Keumangan on Tuesday.
He noted that the aid package comprises three components: basic living assistance (Jadup) of 3.49 billion rupiah, housing supply assistance of 2.37 billion rupiah, and economic empowerment assistance of more than 3.96 billion rupiah.
Teuku Raja Keumangan stated that the disaster which struck Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District on 26 November 2025 represents a test for the community. However, he encouraged residents to remain steadfast and maintain their spirit in facing this challenge.
He said the Nagan Raya Regency Government continues to work diligently and collaborate with the central government through the Ministry of Social Affairs to ensure the state’s presence among people facing hardship.
“The assistance we are distributing today is concrete evidence that every concern and hope of the community is heard and responded to with real action,” he explained.
The Nagan Raya Regency Government is also committed to prioritising the reconstruction of Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District, particularly in the agriculture sector and strengthening the community economy.
“I hope this assistance will be utilised as effectively as possible by the beneficiary households,” he said.
The Head of PT Pos Indonesia Meulaboh Branch, represented by Malik from the Aid Distribution Task Force, expressed appreciation to residents of Beutong Ateuh Banggalang who arrived promptly to receive the assistance.
“This assistance is a programme from the central government through the Ministry of Social Affairs, distributed by PT Pos Indonesia Meulaboh Branch after coordinating with Nagan Raya Regency Government,” he said.
He also thanked the Nagan Raya Regency Government officials who have maintained good communication and cooperation throughout the assistance distribution process.
