Nagan Raya (ANTARA) - The Nagan Raya Regency government, Aceh, is accelerating the preparation of land for the construction of permanent housing (huntap) for thousands of residents impacted by flash floods in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang sub-district. “Administratively, such as letters and certificates, it is already complete. Now we are preparing the staking or foundation laying for the houses because the position is on a hillside, so technical adjustments are needed,” said Nagan Raya Regent Teuku Raja Keumangan in Nagan Raya on Thursday. Currently, he said, the main focus is on land maturation considering the geographical conditions of the location on the hillside. At this site, he said, around 600 houses will be built to accommodate residents who are currently still occupying temporary housing (huntara) scattered in various locations in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang sub-district, Nagan Raya Regency. His side continues to push for the construction to be realised as soon as possible. The local government does not want the community to continuously remain in uncertainty in temporary housing. “We continue to push for this to be quick, so that the community does not stay too long in temporary housing,” he said. With administrative matters completed, he said, the physical stage is expected to proceed smoothly in the near future to ensure the habitability of living spaces for the flood survivors in Nagan Raya.
