Nagan Raya (ANTARA) — The Family Empowerment and Welfare Agency (TP-PKK) of Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh Province, held a trauma healing program for elementary and junior high school students affected by the flash floods in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District that occurred in late November 2025.

“This trauma healing activity is a form of care and commitment from the regional government through the PKK Agency in providing moral and psychosocial support to children affected by the disaster,” said Nagan Raya TP-PKK Chairwoman Cut Inda in a statement received in Nagan Raya on Sunday.

The series of activities included trauma healing sessions packaged through educational and interactive games, listening to inspirational stories with the Literacy Ambassador, as well as the distribution of school supplies including books, stationery, shoes, and other learning support materials.

She noted that children are the most psychologically vulnerable group during disasters. Through this program, her team wants to ensure they remain cheerful, enthusiastic about learning, and do not become mired in prolonged trauma.

During the event, the Nagan Raya Regency Library and Archives Service distributed children’s storybooks to rekindle their interest in reading and provide a space for positive imagination for the students.

Cut Inda said the trauma healing program was attended by 309 participants consisting of 120 students from Public Elementary School 1 Beutong Ateuh, 85 students from Public Elementary School 2 Beutong Ateuh, and 104 students from Beutong Ateuh Public Junior High School. Additionally, snacks were distributed to all participants.
