The Government of Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh, is requesting the central government to accelerate the construction of 647 permanent homes (huntap) for community members who survived severe flooding in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District on 26 November 2025. Nagan Raya Regent Teuku Raja Keumangan stated that out of the four villages in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District, two sustained severe damage. Currently, 647 homes require complete reconstruction as permanent dwellings. All land sites for the construction have been prepared and are ready for development. The Regent had previously conveyed this request to Indonesia’s Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, during a Coordination and Evaluation Meeting on the Handling and Acceleration of Post-Hydrometeorological Disaster Recovery in Aceh, held in Banda Aceh on Tuesday, 9 June. The heaviest impact occurred in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District, a mountainous area bordering Central Aceh Regency. Based on the latest coordination, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has committed to promptly commencing the physical construction of permanent housing for affected residents. Regent Teuku Raja Keumangan expressed hope that the central government would give special attention to accelerating the development of permanent homes in Nagan Raya, enabling flood victims to quickly occupy the homes and rebuild better, more dignified lives.
