Nadiem Trial: Expert Assesses Study Results Already Directed Procurement Towards Chromebooks
An IT expert from Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya University, Mujiono Sadikin, stated that the final study prepared during the era of Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Makarim already directed towards the Chromebook product. Mujiono conveyed this when asked for his opinion in the continuation of the trial for the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Chromebook-based laptops for the defendant Nadiem and associates. “Then, for the final study document and presentation slides, looking at the data sources and then the recommendations, I can state that it already points towards Chromebook, the decision to use Chromebook,” said Mujiono during the trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, on Monday (6/4/2026). The first document is titled “Technical Study of Assistance for Information and Communication Technology Learning Facilities for Primary and Secondary Schools in the 2020 Fiscal Year,” which is the initial study. Then, the second document, “Review of Technical Study Results Analysis of ICT Needs for Primary and Secondary Schools in the 2020 Fiscal Year,” which is the final study. Meanwhile, the third document is “Procurement of ICT for Assessment and Learning by the PAUDasmen Team and Assessment Team and Wartek Team,” in the form of presentation material. He said that the initial study did not point to a specific product. In the initial study, there is a comparison of several products, for example Mac, Windows, to Chromebook. “The initial study document does not point to specific specifications because the data sources are quite fair, then analysed in a balanced manner from several operating systems,” said Mujiono. Meanwhile, the second study already points to Chromebook. The first study does not mention the data sources taken. Meanwhile, the final study uses a lot of results from Google searches.
