Nabire quake losses total Rp 425b
NABIRE, Papua: The Nabire earthquake, measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale, caused the government and local residents losses of Rp 425 billion (US$47.2 million), the Nabire regent said on Monday.
Regent A.P. Youw said that Papua Governor Jaap Salossa and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono would be made aware of the calculation in the hope that more aid would be provided for Nabire.
