Purwokerto – The case of two women’s bodies discovered in Patikraja Village has been revealed to be a premeditated murder with an economic motive. “We have concluded that these murders were carried out in a planned manner and took place in two phases, on 11 and 12 June 2026,” said Banyumas Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Petrus P Silalahi, on Monday, 15 June 2026. The two victims in this case are KA (80), a resident of Patikraja Village who is the grandmother of the suspect’s mother, and AA (18), a resident of South Purwokerto who was a colleague of the suspect. The suspect, identified by the initials ANR alias D (23), a resident of Kedungrandu Village, Patikraja District, allegedly planned the murders to seize the victims’ assets due to economic reasons. The incident began on Thursday afternoon, 11 June 2026, when the suspect visited victim KA’s house to borrow money but was refused because the victim mentioned the suspect’s unpaid debts. “The suspect then voiced complaints about his economic problems. This triggered his emotions after the victim compared him with other grandchildren,” said Petrus. After victim KA performed the Isya evening prayer, the suspect took a hammer from the victim’s house and struck her until she died. The suspect then took a mobile phone and Rp220,000 in cash. Following the incident, the suspect met victim AA, whom he had known since May 2026. The two then went to the Baturraden area before returning to victim KA’s house. The suspect told victim AA that the house belonged to his parents, even though the first victim’s body was still inside. In the early hours of Friday, 12 June 2026, victim AA became suspicious after seeing someone lying in the prayer room. The suspect then murdered the second victim using the same hammer. “The suspect committed murder again and took the victim’s belongings, including a mobile phone and jewellery,” he said. After both victims died, the suspect attempted to eliminate traces by cleaning bloodstains, moving the bodies, and sending messages via WhatsApp from the second victim’s phone to deceive the victim’s family. When residents were searching for victim KA on Friday morning, 12 June 2026, the suspect moved the first victim’s body into a well in the kitchen and hid the second victim’s body in a warehouse at the house.
