Mysterious Mini Pocong Package with Letter Found in Lendah, Kulon Progo – Contents Revealed

A package containing miniature pocong figures has alarmed residents of Padukuhan Bangeran, Bumirejo Village, Lendah Subdistrict, Kulon Progo. A white note inside explained the items were decorative toys for horror-themed rooms. ‘We sell small pocong toys for horror-themed room decor. They contain 100% no supernatural elements. If you did not purchase this item or it was a prank from a friend, burn it. Do not use it for illegal activities,’ the note stated.

Homeowner Sujarwo Prasetyo said the package arrived on Monday morning (25 May). He stated he had not ordered anything and the parcel was prepaid. ‘No one ordered it, and I didn’t order anything myself. A courier suddenly arrived around 9:30 AM WIB delivering a prepaid package,’ Sujarwo told reporters on Tuesday (26 May 2026).

His wife opened the package immediately, screaming upon seeing the mysterious contents. ‘My wife opened it and found a pair of pocong figures, which made her scream in shock,’ he said.

He added the package had no sender details other than being dispatched from Pacitan, East Java.

Sujarwo decided to burn the package in front of residents and police officers. He did not report the discovery to the police. ‘I did not file a report, but when it was opened, Lendah Police Station officers were present. If another such package arrives tomorrow, I will report it. I burned it out of fear,’ he said.

Separately, Kulon Progo Police Public Relations Head Iptu Sarjoko said officers had visited the scene. He confirmed the recipient had not yet filed a formal report. ‘Officers have visited the scene. The package contained pocong figures. As of Tuesday, the recipient has not filed a report,’ Sarjoko said.
