Mysterious Cow Bearing 'TIW' Inscription Sent to Amien Rais's Neighbourhood Mosque
A 1.1-ton Simental cow was sacrificed at Masjid Fatahillah in Padukuhan Gejayan, Condongcatur Village, Depok District, Sleman. The animal, marked with the initials ‘TIW’, was sent by an unidentified individual days before Eid al-Adha.
Muhani, chairman of the mosque’s takmir (management committee), confirmed the cow was dispatched from Jakarta, purchased from a breeder in Boyolali, Central Java. “We were informed this was a donation for Eid al-Adha sacrifice,” Muhani stated when contacted on Friday, 29 May 2026.
He said the identity behind the ‘TIW’ initials remains unknown, sparking speculation among locals. “We don’t know the sender directly, but we thank them for this charitable contribution to the community,” he added.
The mosque received the information via the local village head and prepared for the slaughter. “The sender specified it was for the residents under the name Pak TIW, hoping it benefits the community,” Muhani explained.
This year’s Eid al-Adha saw the mosque receive five cows and 14 goats for sacrifice. Lilik Prabowo, head of RT 01 in Gejayan, confirmed all meat was distributed to neighbours irrespective of religion. “Every household received around two kilograms, with approximately 150 families in RT 01,” he said.
Lilik noted the surplus meat was also shared with areas in Central Java, including Kebumen and Magelang, and praised the donor for their community impact.
