Mysterious Child in White Appears While Woman Vlogs in Hospital Corridor

The viral recording took place in the corridor of RSUD Palabuhanratu. The video was first posted by Facebook user Neng Uswatun Hasanah, and quickly spread via WhatsApp Status and across various social media platforms. Hundreds of comments flooded the post, triggering online debate about the identity of the child in white captured on camera. “In those seconds there was a sighting of a mysterious child at RSUD Palabuhanratu; when replayed later at home there is a child who suddenly seems unsure where to go,” quoted from Neng Uswatun Hasanah’s Facebook post on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. According to the video uploader, the incident occurred last Wednesday, around 6:30 pm, not long after rain had ceased. She and several colleagues went to the hospital to visit a friend admitted there. While walking through the corridor, Uswatun casually filmed a short vlog with the front-facing camera of her phone as a documentation of their togetherness. In the video, the group appears relaxed, joking, and occasionally smiling at the camera. The corridor was described as relatively quiet, except for them. The odd occurrence was only noticed after the video was posted to WhatsApp Status. Some questioned Uswatun’s post, highlighting the appearance of the child at the end of the recording. On replay, at the 18th second a figure of a child with short hair, dressed in white clothes and white shoes, appears from a dark area between the corridor pillars and walks quickly behind the group. “Sister, I didn’t feel I was carrying a child, and I felt there was a child there when we were vlogging. We were walking and vlogging; there wasn’t a child there,” Uswatun told reporters asking about the video. “Only when it was posted on WhatsApp did many ask: who is that child? We only found out when we replayed (the video),” she added. To date, the video continues to be shared and has sparked a range of interpretations among netizens. Some believe there is a supernatural element, while others suspect it is merely a visual effect, a shadow, or another person who happened to be captured on camera without realising it.
