MyRepublic Air Officially Launches, Disrupting Indonesia's Fixed Broadband Market at Rp100,000 Per Month
Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesia’s fixed broadband market is at a turning point. For years, the psychological price threshold for “decent” home internet has hovered between Rp250,000 and Rp400,000.
However, MyRepublic’s latest move with the launch of MyRepublic Air, priced at around Rp100,000 per month, has fundamentally altered the competitive landscape.
What Is MyRepublic Air?
MyRepublic Air is a sub-brand or specialised package designed for the market segment requiring essential connectivity on a minimal budget. Unlike MyRepublic’s flagship packages that pursue speeds of up to 500 Mbps, MyRepublic Air focuses on balancing affordability and reliability.
Key Specifications and Advantages
Based on pre-registration data from February 2026, the following are the estimated advantages on offer:
Permanent Flat Pricing: There is no “promotional price for the first three months” trap. Users pay a consistent rate of around Rp100,000 (before VAT).
Unlimited Without Fair Usage Policy (FUP): Unlike mobile providers that impose data caps, MyRepublic Air is expected to maintain a True Unlimited policy.
Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) Technology: Despite the low price, the service does not use legacy copper cables but rather fibre optic cables that are resistant to weather interference.
Latency Optimisation: Particularly suitable for users who frequently make Zoom calls or engage in online learning, preventing audio delay.
Comparison: MyRepublic Air vs Traditional Providers
In terms of monthly pricing, MyRepublic Air is set at Rp100,000 per month, whilst other entry-level providers generally charge between Rp250,000 and Rp350,000 per month.
For internet speed, MyRepublic Air offers speeds of up to 100 Mbps (estimated). By comparison, traditional entry-level providers typically deliver speeds in the range of 20–30 Mbps.
Regarding installation costs, MyRepublic Air charges nothing — installation is free. Conversely, other providers generally levy installation fees of between Rp150,000 and Rp500,000.
As for target users, MyRepublic Air is aimed at university students, small families, and users outside Java and Papua. Traditional entry-level providers, meanwhile, generally target middle-income households.
