Myanmarese among 18 jail escapees

BANGKOK (Reuter): Eighteen inmates facing various criminal charges, including 14 illegal Myanmarese immigrants, escaped from a police cell in central Thailand, police said yesterday.

Police in Ratchaburi province, 120 kilometers south of Bangkok, said the Myanmarese inmates were the masterminds behind the escape in which inmates cut through an iron grill on Tuesday. Police said they were searching for the escapees.
