My Husband Lukaku: Amina's Fight to Protect Nadia from an Abusive Father

Indonesian drama film ‘My Husband Lukaku’ officially premieres in cinemas on 27 May 2026. This feature film addresses the sensitive issue of Domestic Violence (KDRT) through the narrative of a mother’s struggle to protect her child.

The story centres on Amina, portrayed by Acha Septriasa, a wife and mother trapped in fear due to her husband Irfan’s (Baim Wong) abusive behaviour. Here is a brief synopsis of ‘My Husband Lukaku’:

The film highlights Irfan’s dual nature: a respected and kind husband in public, yet extremely violent behind closed doors.

The conflict reaches its peak when their daughter Nadia’s health deteriorates, threatening her life. Amidst immense physical and mental pressure, Amina meets Zahra (Raline Shah), a vocal women’s rights lawyer. This encounter becomes a turning point for Amina to gather courage, break the cycle of violence, and seek legal protection for her child’s future.

Directed by the collaboration of Ssharad Sharaan and Viva Westi, ‘My Husband Lukaku’ features Indonesia’s top actors. Alongside Acha Septriasa, Baim Wong, and Raline Shah, the film is strengthened by performances from Ayu Azhari, Mathias Muchus, Azkya Mahira, and Gusty Pratama.
