My HPV-Test Innovation Supports Early Detection of Cervical Cancer

Cervical cancer remains one of the largest health threats to women in Indonesia. Addressing this challenge, PT Prodia Widyahusada Tbk has launched My HPV-Test, an innovative examination for detecting high-risk Human Papillomavirus (HPV) using self-collection sampling methods designed to expand early detection access.

Early detection is the key to reducing cervical cancer mortality, as high-risk HPV infections often show no symptoms at the initial stage. Through HPV-DNA testing with high sensitivity, infection can be identified long before developing into malignancy.

Low screening rates in Indonesia have historically been attributed to psychological factors, including shame, anxiety, and discomfort during physical examination by medical professionals. My HPV-Test addresses these barriers.

Through the self-collection method, patients can independently collect samples using a specially designed vaginal swab without requiring invasive procedures at a clinic.

Digital service integration represents the primary distinguishing factor in the accessibility of this early detection. Prodia’s Director of Business & Marketing, Indriyanti Rafi Sukmawati, explained the patient-friendly service process: “My HPV-Test is designed so women can conduct early HPV detection more comfortably and conveniently from home. Patients can order this service through the U by Prodia application or contact Prodia services, and the examination kit will be sent directly to their home. After independently collecting the sample by following provided instructions, the sample will be collected by courier from the nearest Prodia branch, so patients need not visit a clinic. The sample is then analysed at Prodia’s laboratory, and test results can be accessed digitally by the patient.”

This examination is highly recommended for women aged 30 to 65 years who are sexually active.

By simplifying the examination procedure, Prodia hopes to significantly and sustainably increase community participation in early detection.
