Chairman of the MPR RI, Ahmad Muzani, directly observed the progress of development in the Nusantara Capital (IKN). During this visit, Muzani also conveyed a message from President Prabowo Subianto regarding the architecture in IKN.

“The President himself, on many occasions, has always said that IKN must depict our state governance architecture. There is the executive, there is the legislative, and there is the judicial,” said Muzani when meeting with the Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, at the IKN Authority Office in East Kalimantan on Monday (20/4/2026).

Muzani conveyed that President Prabowo has now approved the development designs submitted by Basuki and his team, particularly for the design of the parliamentary building and the judiciary. He also expressed his appreciation for the work of Basuki and his team.

“We have received approval from him for the drawings designed by Mr Basuki and his colleagues. We all pray that all initiatives and plans that have been approved by the President can proceed smoothly. Amen,” said Muzani.

“What we must also appreciate is the willingness of Mr Basuki and all the staff, 1,170 staff who are now inhabitants of IKN, extraordinary, well, this is what deserves appreciation. And hopefully, this becomes a pioneer for the beginning of the government’s movement, which, God willing, perhaps in 2028 we will gradually move here,” he added.

On this occasion, Muzani also stated that legislative members, both from the MPR, DPR, and DPD, will still move to IKN. He mentioned that the relocation to IKN will be done in stages.

“God willing, we will still move to IKN. Waiting for the MPR building to be completed, Mr Basuki. Now we just wait for the developments in its construction,” said Muzani.

Muzani stated that this visit aimed to ensure the plans for relocating parliamentary members to IKN. Because, according to him, the exact timing of the parliamentary members’ relocation to IKN is widely discussed by the public.

“This is actually the purpose of our visit, all of us along with the MPR leaders, to ensure when we will move, where we will move, and today we get certainty that we will move to a more magnificent building,” explained Muzani.

“This is important because discussions in society, on social media, even at the political level, often become topics of conversation. The political decision that we will move is already in place, because the law on IKN has already been decided by us. But when we will move is the issue. And today we came to ensure when we will move and we are even more convinced that the certainty of the move is becoming clearer,” he added.
