MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani, along with his deputies, directly inspected the progress of the parliament building construction in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN). This visit was conducted to ensure the readiness for relocating members of parliament to the new capital.

During the inspection, Muzani received a detailed explanation from the IKN Authority regarding the design and layout of the parliament building site. With approval from President Prabowo Subianto, Muzani assured that parliament will be ready to move to IKN.

“Today we were surprised by the information conveyed by the Head of the Authority, Mr Basuki, that the approval for the parliament building, MPR, DPR, and DPD, has already received presidential approval. Including approval for the Judicial building. What does that mean? Insyaallah, we will still move to IKN. Waiting for the MPR building to be completed, Mr Basuki,” said Muzani at the IKN Authority building, East Kalimantan, on Monday (20/4/2026).

Muzani stated that this visit was indeed one of the purposes to ensure the readiness for relocating members of parliament to IKN. Because, he said, questions have arisen in the public regarding whether parliament will move to IKN or not.

“This is actually the purpose of our arrival, all together with the MPR leaders, to ensure when we will move, where we will move, and today we have the certainty that we will move to a more magnificent building,” explained Muzani.

“This is important because discussions in society, on social media, even at the political level, often become topics of conversation. The political decision that we will move has already been made, because the law on IKN has been decided by us. But when the move will happen is the issue. And today we came to ensure when it will happen, and we are increasingly convinced that the certainty of the move is becoming clearer,” he added.

With the start of the parliament building construction in IKN, according to him, it has become the answer to the questions that have arisen in the public. He hopes that the construction progress can run smoothly.

“Now we just wait for the developments in its construction. We all pray that hopefully all initiatives and plans that have been approved by the President can go smoothly, Amin. And of course, the commander is Mr Basuki,” he concluded.
