Jakarta, VIVA – The Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) of the Republic of Indonesia, Ahmad Muzani, delivered several pantun before closing his speech at the Annual Session of the MPR and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD.

“Long live the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. United, sovereign, just, and prosperous. Once independent, always independent!” said Muzani on Friday, 14 August 2026.

Muzani said he would recite three pantun.

In the first pantun, Muzani asked the public to be optimistic about Indonesia’s future as a sovereign, just and prosperous nation.

“Doves, pigeons. Flying high to the eastern sky. We are optimistic about realising an Indonesia that is sovereign, just, and prosperous,” he said.

In the second pantun, Muzani expressed confidence that Indonesia would shine ever brighter under the leadership and people-oriented policies of Prabowo.

“The Sumbawa horse, the strongest horse. Entered in a race and winning a trophy. The president’s people-oriented policies are making Indonesia shine ever brighter,” he said.

Through the third pantun, Muzani urged all the people to unite and not insult one another.

“Jackfruit, avocado. Their sweet taste is captivating. This is a message to all the people: let us unite and not insult one another,” Muzani concluded.
