Mutual Reports in the Bro Ron Assault Case

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — The assault case against Ronald A Sinaga, alias Bro Ron, Deputy General Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), has now developed into a more protracted affair. After reporting as a victim of mobbing, Bro Ron has now been counter-reported by one of the alleged perpetrators. The dispute, which initially stemmed from a company mediation agenda, has turned into a series of accusations, denials, and mutual reports to the police. One of the alleged assault perpetrators, MRB, reported Bro Ron to the Menteng Police Sector on Monday (4/5/2026) for alleged assault under Article 466 of the Criminal Code (KUHP). According to him, Bro Ron had made racist remarks targeting a certain animal and ethnic group. “(It was said) Whose ‘ang’ are you, whose ‘babu’ are you, whose ‘babu’ are you, you’re a basic bo*ek An,” said MRB when confirmed by Kompas.com via short message on Wednesday (6/5/2026). Not only that, MRB also claimed to have received a punch to the solar plexus. MRB said he came to the MPP office because he was asked for help by his relative who felt scared. “There’s a relative who works there. My relative called saying they were afraid because there were many people in their office,” he explained. “I said ‘Go ahead, brother, just talk, brother doesn’t need to use hands, what did I do wrong?’ Then he pulled me here again (pointing to the back of his head),” said MRB on Tuesday (5/5/2026) as quoted from Kompas TV. MRB stated that the police had once intervened in the dispute. He then went down to the lower floor but returned to the upper floor and punched Bro Ron. “Because I still couldn’t accept it, I hit him back. That was a retaliatory punch, not that I suddenly punched him first,” he explained.
