Mutuagung Lestari (MUTU) Proposes Sandiaga Uno as President Commissioner

Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno is reported to be joining PT Mutuagung Lestari Tbk (MUTU) as the company’s President Commissioner. The proposal will be discussed at an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPSLB) on Monday, 24 August 2026 in Jakarta.

Some time ago, Sandiaga Uno stated that he would soon join the listed testing, inspection, and certification services company, PT Mutuagung Lestari Tbk (MUTU). However, at that time he was unable to disclose further details about the position he would hold.

“This is still being finalised, so we cannot provide details yet, but it is getting closer,” he told CNBC Indonesia some time ago, as quoted on Monday (24/8/2026).

Sandi said his interest in joining the listed company stemmed from MUTU’s entry into green energy. “Because I see that the green economy will be the focus of our investments going forward, so we want closer synergy and collaboration,” he explained.

In collaborating with MUTU, Sandi will promote the green ecosystem. Moreover, this sector is one of the investment portfolios at Saratoga.

“The potential is enormous. There is a global shift now, from ESG or net zero previously being discussed only in certain circles, to now becoming mainstream,” he said.

Citing the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) information disclosure, MUTU management had previously announced the RUPSLB plan to shareholders.

“We hereby notify the Shareholders of PT Mutuagung Lestari Tbk (the ‘Company’) that the Company will hold an Annual and Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Meeting’) in Jakarta on Monday, 24 August 2026,” MUTU management wrote.

Based on the provisions of the Company’s Articles of Association and Financial Services Authority Regulation No. 15/POJK.04/2020, shareholders entitled to attend or be represented at the Meeting are those whose names are recorded in the Company’s Register of Shareholders on 30 July 2026 and/or owners of shares in securities sub-account balances at PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI) on 30 July 2026 up to the close of trading of the Company’s shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

For context, Sandiaga is known as an entrepreneur who also entered politics and held government positions. Sandiaga served as Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy from 2020 to 2024 and as Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta from 2017 to 2018. He founded PT Recapital Advisory in 1997 and was one of the founders of PT Saratoga Investama Sedaya Tbk in 1998.
