Mutilated Body Found Naked and Legless in Depok, Wrapped in Sack

Police are investigating the discovery of an unidentified, mutilated body on a vacant plot of land in Pancoran, Depok City, West Java. Authorities stated the victim’s remains were found wrapped in a rice sack.

“The body was placed inside a rice sack which was wrapped in black plastic,” said Polda Metro Jaya Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, to reporters on Tuesday (4/8/2026).

Police subsequently processed the crime scene. Based on the initial examination, the victim was unclothed, had their hands tied, and their legs were missing.

“The victim was found without clothing, both hands were bound with white cloth, both legs were missing from the hip, and there was an open wound on the neck,” he stated.

The body was discovered on Friday (24/7) at 07:00 WIB. The remains have been evacuated to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta for further medical examination.

“The Inafis Team from the Depok Metro Police conducted initial identification and evacuated the body to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for further forensic examination,” he added.

A local resident named Badlu (66) said he initially saw a sack at the location on 24 July 2026, which he assumed contained rubbish.

“It had been there since the 24th. There was a sack there from the 24th, we thought it was rubbish, so the residents here just left it alone,” Badlu told reporters at the scene.

Badlu explained that because the sack had been there for a long time, it was eventually set on fire. When the sack melted, the victim’s body became visible.

“After a while, the son of Mr Tutu burned it. After it was burned, the sack melted. Once the sack melted, the body became visible,” he revealed.

He said the body consisted only of the torso and head, with no legs. The legs were not found at the location.
