Mutilated Body Found in Depok: Victim's Identity Revealed, Suspect Arrested

The discovery of a mutilated body in a sack in the Tanah Merah area of Pancoran Mas, Depok, has been resolved with the arrest of the suspect by the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya). The victim has been identified as Kunaefi, a 51-year-old resident of Bojong, Cipayung, Depok. The suspect, identified by the initials SA (26), was apprehended in the Panimbang area of Pandeglang, Banten.

According to the Greater Jakarta Police’s Public Relations Head, the case began when a resident found a suspicious sack on 24 July 2026 and mistook it for rubbish. On 4 August 2026, another resident set the sack on fire, revealing human body parts inside. The discovery was reported to the police, who conducted a crime scene investigation. Meanwhile, the victim’s wife had reported her husband missing to the Depok Metro Police on 25 July 2026.

Investigations revealed that the suspect and the victim became acquainted through social media and arranged to meet at a rented house in Cipayung on 23 July. The meeting escalated into an argument, during which the suspect stabbed the victim in the stomach and slashed his neck with a knife. To conceal the crime, the suspect mutilated the body at the thighs, wrapped the remains in black plastic and a sack, and dumped the torso in Tanah Merah. The legs were disposed of in a river in the Pitara area, Pancoran Mas. The suspect subsequently fled to Panimbang and sold the victim’s motorcycle. The suspect is now in custody and undergoing further investigation.
