The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined six witnesses to deepen the case of alleged extortion in Pati Regency today, 2 April 2026. They were all asked to explain the handover of money for the registration of prospective village officials in Pati.

“The witnesses attended. The investigators delved into statements regarding the process of handing over the village official registration money,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a written statement on Thursday (2/4).

The six witnesses examined in this case are prospective village official from Sukorukun Village Suyono (SY), prospective village official from Sidoluhur Village Joko Lastari (JL), prospective village official from Trikoyo Village Parmin (PMN), Head of Slungkep Village Agus Susanto (AS), private party Mujibur Rokman (MR), and Head of Legal Section at the Pati Regency Regional Secretariat Ari Sih Hartono (ASH).

“The examination was conducted at the Sumber Rembang Police Sector Office,” Budi stated.

Budi declined to detail the full responses of the witnesses during the examination. Detailed information will be presented in the trial.

The KPK has designated four suspects in the Pati extortion case, namely inactive Pati Regent Sudewo (SDW), Head of Karangrowo Village Abdul Suyono (YON), Head of Arumanis Village Sumarjion (JION), and Head of Sukorukun Village Karjan (JAN).

In this case, Sudewo and associates are charged with violating Article 12 letter e of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of the Criminal Code.
