Muslim Nations Condemn Israel's Violations and Obstruction of Trump's Gaza Peace Plan
A group of Muslim nations, including close allies from the United Arab Emirates to Turkey, has formally condemned a series of violations committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip. They accuse Israel of deliberately undermining United States President Donald Trump’s plan to end the fighting in the enclave.
The joint statement was issued by Qatar, Jordan, the Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. In the statement, they asserted that Israel’s actions in Gaza constitute a clear violation of Israel’s obligations under international law as well as the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict.
The countries stated that Israel’s military conduct and policies undermine international and regional efforts aimed at implementing the second phase of the peace plan. This has come under sharp scrutiny especially after President Donald Trump’s announcement that Palestinian factions had accepted the peace roadmap, including provisions on weapons restrictions.
Israel’s policies in Gaza are deemed to threaten the sustainability of the ongoing political process. “These actions risk derailing the political process, reigniting a cycle of escalation, and further deepening the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip,” the group’s statement read.
On the other hand, the Israeli government remains firm in its stance. Israel has stated it will not begin withdrawing its troops from Gaza until there is meaningful progress regarding Hamas disarmament.
This situation has created a new impasse in Middle East diplomacy. The peace plan championed by the Trump administration now faces a severe test due to fundamental differences over security mechanisms on the ground and the withdrawal of military forces.
