Muslim EduFest Launched, Providing a Navigational Space for Islamic Education for Families
The Association of Indonesian Islamic Da’wah and Educational Institutions (PULDAPII), in collaboration with LIMA Events, has officially launched the PULDAPII Muslim EduFest at the Al Binaa Islamic Boarding School in Bekasi, West Java, on Wednesday (3/6/2026). The educational festival will be held alongside Muslim LifeFest, serving as a venue to bring Muslim families together with various Islamic educational institutions from across Indonesia from 28–30 August 2026 at ICE BSD City, Tangerang.
Organisers stated that Muslim EduFest is designed to help parents obtain a more comprehensive overview of educational options for their children. Conversely, the event also provides a space for Islamic schools, pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), and other educational institutions to showcase their programmes and contributions to human resource development.
The launch of Muslim EduFest comes amidst the rapid growth of the national Islamic education ecosystem. Data presented by the organisers shows that the number of pesantren in Indonesia has reached approximately 42,400 institutions, nearly double the figure from five years ago. Additionally, there are over 104,000 Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah and nearly 195,000 Al-Qur’an Educational Institutions active in various regions. The vast number of these institutions is considered to be not yet fully balanced by the availability of information and curation spaces that facilitate parents in making suitable educational choices for their children.
Organisers also cited a 2025 Jakpat survey of 983 respondents, which revealed that although 77 per cent of parents consider academic aspects, 94 per cent are more concerned about the formation of their children’s attitude and manners (adab), while 90 per cent are anxious about the risk of bullying in educational environments.
Based on these conditions, Muslim EduFest is packaged as more than just an educational exhibition. The festival will also feature parenting seminars, educational talk shows, consultations with educational institutions, and various educational activities aimed at families. Another concept introduced is the provision of an ‘educational roadmap’ for parents. Through this approach, families are expected to not only seek schools deemed superior but also to understand educational pathways that align with their children’s character, interests, and potential.
The Director of PT Lima Event Indonesia, Taufik Surya Hidayat, stated that the collaboration between PULDAPII and LIMA Events was born from a desire to provide a wider stage for Islamic education in Indonesia. “This collaboration was born from a shared concern: that Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia have extraordinary potential, but have so far grown in isolation without a large enough platform to inspire one another,” said Taufik.
According to him, Muslim EduFest is expected to be more than just an exhibition. “This is not merely an expo, but a movement to prove that generations from pesantren, madrasah, and Islamic schools can stand equal to, or even lead, in various fields,” he added.
The festival will also serve as a competition arena for junior and senior high school students, as well as teachers from various Islamic educational institutions. Competitions will include tahfizh (Quranic memorisation), business plans, scientific papers, and creative media, as part of an effort to encourage the capacity building of the younger generation.
Meanwhile, the Head of the PULDAP_II Education Department, Ustaz Aminullah Yasin, noted that the process of choosing a school is often a challenge for parents. “No school is perfect for every child, but there is always an environment more suitable for each child’s character and potential. Because choosing education is essentially not about choosing a building or a curriculum, but choosing the environment that will help shape a child’s future,” he said.
