Musical Instrument Warehouse in Cakranegara Destroyed by Fire, Losses Estimated at Rp 800 Million

A fire swept through a warehouse storing musical instruments and sound systems on Jalan Hasanudin, Pasar Sindu, Cakranegara, Mataram. The blaze, which raged for approximately 1.5 hours, caused severe damage to the interior of the warehouse, with losses estimated at Rp 800 million.

Head of the Mataram Fire Department (Damkar), Rudi Suryawan, said the fire occurred around 14.02 WITA. “We deployed 16 personnel and six fire engines,” Rudi said when confirmed on Tuesday (25/8/2026).

Based on videos circulating on social media, flames were seen blazing fiercely, drawing the attention of nearby residents. “There were no casualties. The building that burned was a warehouse for the sale of musical instruments and sound systems,” Rudi said.

“Firefighting took approximately 1.5 hours, with estimated losses of around Rp 800 million,” he added.
