Musi Hydroelectric Power Plant corruption: Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office receives Rp1.11 billion in restitution
Kota Bengkulu (ANTARA) - The Special Crimes Investigation Team (Pidsus) of the Bengkulu High Prosecutor’s Office has again received restitution of state losses amounting to Rp1.11 billion in the case of suspected corruption in the Musi Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA Musi) project in Bengkulu Province, for the 2022 to 2023 fiscal years.
‘We would like to inform you that Mr Nehemia Indrajaya, as Director of PT Truba Engineering Indonesia, whom we have designated as a suspect in the case of replacement of SKU, has deposited state loss restitution amounting to Rp1.11 billion,’ said Hendra Syarbaini, Assistant for Special Crimes at the Bengkulu High Prosecutor’s Office, in Kota Bengkulu on Thursday.
With the deposit, he said, the total restitution in the corruption case has increased to Rp6.12 billion.
Hendra said that although they had received the restitution amounting to billions of rupiah, the investigative process is ongoing and the total state losses are still under calculation. Investigators will also continue to explore various possibilities relating to potential additional state losses in the project.
Some time earlier, the Bengkulu High Prosecutor’s Office also received restitution of Rp4.95 billion from a case of suspected corruption involving replacement of the Musi PLTA’s main control system in Bengkulu Province. The case relates to the replacement of the Musi PLTA’s main control system by officials from a state-owned electricity company in the 2022 to 2023 budget year.
Those who have returned state losses in that case include Wawan Setiawan, President Director of PT Citra Wahana Sekar Buana, amounting to Rp424.82 million. Then Osmond Pratama Manurung, who is Sales Manager of PT Yokogawa Indonesia and Director of PT Ostrada, Rp526.31 million, and Director of PT Hensan Putera Andalas Hendra Gunawan, Rp4 billion.
Earlier, the Bengkulu High Prosecutor’s Office had named eight suspects in the case, namely Vincentius Fanny Janu Fidianto as Subdivision Manager of Engineering UIK SBS and Jamot Jingles Sitanggang as Engineering Staff for UIK Sumbagsel’s Power Generation. In addition, Yokogawa Indonesia’s Sales Manager Syaifur Rijal, Yokogawa Indonesia’s Sales Engineer Osmond Pratama Manurung, Director of PT Austindo Prima Daya Abadi Nehemia Indrajaya, and an official of the electricity company Daryanto.
