Mushroom Cultivation Site in Bogor Destroyed by Fire Caused by Electrical Short Circuit
An agricultural mushroom cultivation site in Desa Cibatok 2, Cibungbulang District, Bogor, West Java, was totally burned. The fire originated from an electrical short circuit. “The burning object is a wooden building used for mushroom cultivation. The source of the fire or the cause of the blaze is an electrical short circuit,” said Yudi Santosa, head of the Bogor Regency Fire Department (Kadis Damkar), to reporters on Thursday (5 March 2026). The incident occurred around 01:05 WIB. Initially, sparks appeared from a switch area where a short circuit occurred. “There was an electrical short circuit in the switch area causing sparks that ignited the mushroom cultivation site,” he explained. The fire grew quickly. Residents reported the incident to the fire service for handling. “The crew departed at 01:07 WIB and arrived at the location at 01:18 WIB,” he said. Upon arrival, responders immediately conducted control measures until the fire was extinguished. Yudi said there were no fatalities. “The final situation, the fire was doused, and the firefighting process proceeded smoothly. The handling time was 1 hour 27 minutes,” he concluded.
