Museum offers free batik cards

JAKARTA: In celebration of Jakarta's 476th anniversary and the 28th anniversary of the Textile Museum, the museum is offering the public a rare opportunity to make batik cards, free of charge.

The program will run from Friday, June 6, through June 29 at the museum, which is located on Jl. KS Tubun 2-4, Petamburan, West Jakarta.

Visitors are invited to make batik greeting cards and express their hopes and comments about the city through their creations.

The museum will prepare all materials for those interested who simply present their museum entrance ticket.

The entrance fee for an adult is Rp 2,000, a college student Rp 1,000, a high school student or child Rp 600. A group with more than 20 people is entitled to a special discount.

The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Tuesday through Sunday, except Saturday, when it closes at 12:30 p.m. --JP
