Murdered official a loan shark

SERANG, West Java: Dulati, an official at the local
administration whose body was found badly mutilated on Monday,
was a loan shark who often intimated clients, Antara reported.

The agency quoted local police chief Lt. Col. Ujang Mulyana as
saying that 38-year old Dulati had been building a three-story
house with 18 rooms in Cipocok Jaya area.

Dulati, a graduate of the Bogor Institute of Agriculture, was
said to have often confiscated the belongings of clients who were
late in paying back their debts to him.

His wife, Siti Uni Sulaesiyah, said Dulati left home on Sunday
evening along with two men who had come to visit him earlier. His
body was found in a ditch, with a knife stuck in the left side of
his chest. (swe)
