Murder suspect's home destroyed
JAKARTA (JP): Angry mob attacked yesterday the house of the
main suspect in the murder of a woman and her three children in
Bambu Apus, East Jakarta, and burned the house of his relative
after hearing that the woman's 8-month baby escaped from the
murder finally died yesterday.
Hundreds of people flocking to the location started to stone
the house Filipus Kia, the main suspect, and the homes of his
relatives Bernardus Ola Namang, Bernardus Lajar and Yohanes Muli
which are close to Filipus's in the afternoon. The angry mob even
burned Bernardus Ola Namang's house, Antara reported.
The mob attack made police officers, helped by military
officers, busy dispersing the large number of attackers. It took
two hours for the officers to control the situation. Dozens of
officers remained in the location to avoid any possible new
attack from the mob, according to Antara.
Eli, a 31-year-old housewife, and three of her children were
found dead with severe stab wounds in her home in Bambu Apus last
Monday.
The large number of people coming to the location caused a
heavy traffic congestion on roads around the area.
Filipus, his wife Parmi, his sons Agus, Fery, Bernardus and
Albert, and his cousins Alex and Lambert are now being questioned
by the police following the brutal murder.
Quoting police sources, Antara said that Filipus who was
accompanied by his lawyer OC Kaligis only admitted to the killing
yesterday after police involved a psychologist and a clergyman in
the investigation.
