Munir's burial set for Sunday

The body of leading rights campaigner Munir is expected to arrive
in Indonesia on Saturday for burial, after doctors in the
Netherlands completed an autopsy.

One of Munir's colleagues, Todung Mulya Lubis, said Munir's
remains would be flown directly to Malang in East Java soon after
arrival at Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

"There will be no procession to allow the public to pay their
last respects at the airport," Todung said, adding that the
burial would take place on Sunday morning at Sisir Cemetery in
Batu, near Malang.

On Thursday evening, dozens of non-governmental organization
activists and journalists in Surabaya held a mass prayer for
Munir and for the victims killed in a terror attack in front of
Australian Embassy in Jakarta earlier on Thursday (photo above).

In Jakarta, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hassan Wirayuda said
the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague had reported that the doctors
had completed the autopsy on Munir and found no signs of
irregularities in the death of the rights activist.

"The medical team said it would conduct another examination if
it found irregularities in the first autopsy," Hassan said.

Hassan said, however, that Indonesia had not been given access
to the autopsy results, which would be submitted only to the
Dutch justice ministry.

"The ministry will decide whether the postmortem report will
be handed over to Indonesia," Hassan said.

Munir died onboard a flight to the Netherlands on Tuesday,
just two hours before landing at Schiphol International Airport.
He had received a scholarship to pursue a master's degree on
human rights at Utrecht University.
