Municipal Government reminds Mataram's hajj pilgrims to focus on Armuzna preparations
Mataram (ANTARA) – The Mataram City Government, in West Nusa Tenggara Province, has reminded haj pilgrims from the region preparing for the 2026 Hajj season to begin focusing on preparations for the peak rites at Armuzna, namely Arafah, Muzdalifah and Mina.
‘The exhortation was conveyed through the heads of the flight groups (kloter) and the leaders of each group via mobile phones to ensure the pilgrims’ condition in the Holy Land,’ said Lalu Martawang, Assistant to the City Secretary, in Mataram, on Wednesday.
According to information from officials, 809 haj pilgrims from Mataram in 2026 are now in the Holy Land of Makkah, preparing for Armuzna.
To date, information on the health of the pilgrims from the area has been reported as stable. The kloter officers and the on‑call staff in Makkah and Madinah confirm there have been no reports of pilgrims requiring special medical attention.
‘We hope this condition can be maintained so that the pilgrims can perform their rites smoothly and in good health until they return to the homeland,’ he said.
In this regard, Martawang also reminded pilgrims to focus on maintaining health and to prepare physically and mentally, especially since the weather in the Holy Land is reported to reach 40 degrees Celsius.
‘The peak of Hajj is at Arafah. With temperatures reportedly above 40 degrees Celsius, pilgrims must truly prepare physically. Do not overexert yourselves in performing sunnah rites or for sightseeing,’ he said.
Staff were also asked to actively accompany and remind pilgrims, especially the elderly, so that they can perform the peak rites of Hajj smoothly.
Information from other hajj officials, he added, is that starting 25 May 2026, worship activities at Masjidilharam and outdoor sightseeing will be limited.
‘The restrictions are intended to help pilgrims conserve energy and prioritise preparations for the crucial Hajj phase, namely wuquf at Arafah,’ he said.
