Flights were temporarily suspended at Munich Airport in Germany on Saturday (30 May) following a suspected drone sighting.

A local police spokesperson stated that two pilots reported a suspicious incident involving what appeared to be a drone shortly after 9:00 am local time.

‘In coordination with German air traffic control, security authorities decided to close the runway,’ the spokesperson said, according to AFP on 30 May 2026.

A police helicopter was deployed, and security personnel were ‘clarifying the situation,’ they added.

The incident caused flight disruptions for approximately one hour.

Flights resumed at 10:05 am local time, according to an airport spokesperson.
